Do you have to be Catholic to attend LaSalle Catholic?
No! While many of our students are Catholic, we welcome students of all faiths and backgrounds. Our Catholic identity is celebrated throughout the school, creating a community that is inclusive, values-driven, and open to everyone. Is religion more important than other subjects at a Catholic school?
Religion is a core part of our curriculum, but it is not taught in isolation. Faith is integrated throughout the school day—in morning, lunchtime, and afternoon prayers, as well as in weekly Masses and prayer services. At LaSalle Middle School, students can further grow spiritually through retreats, mentorship from older students and young adults, and meaningful faith experiences. We are committed to developing our students academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
Why is service emphasized at LaSalle Catholic?
We believe that living out the Catholic faith means serving others, especially those who are marginalized. From kindergarten through eighth grade, students participate in service projects—from canned food drives and walk-a-thons to yard work and community outreach. In eighth grade, students even take a service trip to Omaha’s inner city. Our goal is to instill a lifelong commitment to service that extends beyond LaSalle.
What activities are available for middle school students?
LaSalle Catholic Middle School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities. Sports options include football, tennis, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, swimming, and cross country. Students can also participate in drama, speech, show choir, band, student council, and more. Because we are a mid-sized school, students often have the chance to be involved in multiple activities. Advanced learners can further challenge themselves through our Enrichment Program in Math and Literacy.
